West Michigan Aviation Academy

WMAA is a charter public high school located on the grounds of Grand Rapids International Airport. The school opened in 2010 with a focus on attracting students who would be interested in aviation careers. After 10 years of growth and expansion as a STEM magnet school, the administration realized that it needed to have a more constant and comprehensive presentation to prospective students/families, as well as to community partners and aviation professionals.

Mind Over Marketing planned and executed a photo shoot to capture the varied aspects of the school’s culture and expanded STEM curriculum. The story was distilled into a 12-page brochure that speaks to all audiences about the unique selling proposition that WMAA provides to high school students. Mijaart and Design gave a brand refresh and was carried out, utilizing the original logo, color palette and font combinations, but giving it a fresh and modern application. A brochure was designed to enhance an existing folder, and then created a mix and match set of stacked insert sheets that could provide more customization to various audiences such as parents, donors, and the local business community.

For the first time in the school’s history, they have produced a comprehensive, professional printed document that clearly articulates and differentiate their entire educational offering in a cohesive fashion.
