Visual Identity
Matrix Design Group
current. intuitive.
Matrix Design Group is a residential interior design firm that brings to life timeless interiors unique to their clients’ vision of home. MDG provides full design services that involve smart collaboration with architects, builders, and clients to seamlessly connect functionality and aesthetic joy within each project.
smart. inviting.
With the desire to make a logo statement that showed a progressive and intuitive approach to design, the client wanted to incorporate name identity with symbolism. This logo transformed the letters “m, d, and g” into a welcoming chair that says “look further into this company,” there’s more to see. The purposeful stacking of the letters represents the many layers of color, dimension, and perspective that go into each interior design project.
While this logo shape is forward-thinking, the timeless navy, olive, and slate gray color scheme brought it back to a conservative foundation. Lettering style is simple and clean, alternating between all caps or all lower case.
relational. impactful.
The client needed a pared-down version of the logo for its’ social media presence. Reversing out the schematic type/ink colors in a button style seemed a natural way to maintain flow between the print and digital interpretations of the logo, in essence pulling the pillow off the chair from the main logo and giving it a second life. This version of the logo also provides endless opportunity for printed promotional giveaways at a single-color cost point.
